Advisory Committee application
Background
The principal focus of the Advisory Committee (AC) is to provide strategic advice and support the activities of PC4. This includes guidance in developing the research priorities of PC4, its Strategic Plan, Business Plan, Communications Plan, Annual Report as well as monitoring the activities and progress of the Scientific Committee. Please view the Advisory Committee Terms of Reference.
Eligibility
Only PC4 members are eligible for nomination to the AC.Â
Commitment
It is anticipated members of the AC will participate in up to four teleconferences annually and attend the face-to-face Strategic Planning Day (travel costs will be covered by PC4). Additionally, some AC members will be invited to attend the PC4 Scientific Symposium (registration and travel costs to be covered by PC4). There may also be voluntary participation in other PC4 activities and workshops. Please note that this is an honorary role.
Notification
PC4 members will be notified by email of the outcome of their application.
Process
Members who wish to nominate themselves to the AC are required to complete the Expression of Interest form. Please note applications are currently CLOSED and will reopen in 2026. All nominations are submitted to the National Manager for review by a PC4 review panel.Â
Applications will be considered on the following elements:
- Diversity of disciplines and knowledge within the Advisory Committee
- Diversity of geographic location of the Advisory Committee members
- Previous level of engagement with PC4
- Knowledge of cancer in primary care, and research/clinical trial experience
- Previous committee experience
- Reason for applying
