A new blood test can detect eight different cancers in their early stages
A new blood test, called CancerSEEK, can screen for eight common cancers. The medical breakthrough will enable doctors to identify cancers in the early stages — before they’ve had the chance to spread throughout the body.
Large trials are now underway in the US, with CancerSEEK testing being offered to thousands of healthy people. Cancer incidence and outcomes in these people will be compared to a control group who do not have testing. Study results will be available in the next three to five years.
