Birth control and breast cancer: Putting the risk in perspective
The NY Times article offers an interesting perspective on the current media surrounding breast cancer risk increase and birth control medication. Some recent news articles stressed the risk of a commonly used medication in regards to breast cancer.
The article discusses that the risk cannot be ignored but is not as great as it may seem from a recent study and media publications. The discussion leads to encompassing all cancers together with the birth control medication and argues that a woman who uses hormonal birth control might be less likely to develop cancer, in general, than a woman who doesn’t.
