40% of cancers are linked to being overweight

Rises in overweight and obesity-related cancers account for 40% of all United States cancers. The new analysis published in the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report reviewed data from 2005 to 2014 on cancer rates in the United States. They found that of the nearly 1.6 million cancers diagnosed in 2014, around 630,000 were of cancers linked to being overweight or obese. Time, 6/10/2017
