Survey of use of Cannabis and related products in a Palliative care population

The NSW Government has made a commitment to make cannabis available for medicinal purposes and in clinical trials for symptom management in a palliative care context. This project will explore local experiences of people currently or previously using cannabis for ‘medicinal purposes’ using an anonymous survey and qualitative interviews. The information gathered will be used to inform the current use of cannabis in a palliative care context, allowing an understanding of a patient’s experience of using cannabis in a setting where the evidence for benefits are still unclear. The project will also investigate the potential hazards, side effects, financial impact and standard of the product currently accessed.
