General practitioners’ management of cancers in Australian adolescents and young adults

General practitioners (GPs) are often Adolescent and young adults (AYAs) first point of contact with the health system and are well-placed to coordinate cancer care, but little is known about their management of AYA cancers. This study examined the characteristics of patients, GPs and cancers involved in AYA cancer management consultations with Australian GPs between 2006-2016, using data from a national study of Australian GP activity (Bettering the Evaluation and Care of Health).
