Open call for nominations: Scientific Committee
Background
The Scientific Committee (SC) is a core element of the PC4 organisational structure. The principal focus of the SC is to develop and monitor a portfolio of high-quality research for PC4, linked to our values and strategic goals. The portfolio of PC4 research should cover the role of primary care across the cancer continuum including prevention, screening and early detection, survivorship and palliative care. Additionally, members of the Scientific Committee help provide providing guidance and expert review for PC4 workshops and activities including the PC4 Scientific Symposium, Concept Development Workshops, Joint Consumer Advisory Group Workshops, and Early Career Researcher Network Workshops. Please view the Scientific Committee Terms of Reference.
Eligibility
Only PC4 members are eligible for nomination to the SC. Students and early career researchers are encouraged to apply. Nominations from PC4 members working in health policy are strongly encouraged to apply.
Commitment
It is anticipated members of the SC will participate in two face-to-face meetings and 4 teleconferences annually. Additional representation is expected at Concept Development Workshops and the PC4 Scientific Symposium. There would also be additional voluntary involvement in smaller research working groups created by the SC.
Notification
PC4 members will be notified by email. Consumers have the option of requesting information by mail.
Process
Members who wish to nominate themselves to the SC are required to complete this Expression of Interest form. All nominations are submitted to the National Manager for review by the PC4 Advisory Committee. Members will be notified of the outcome of their application.
Please note that all information provided in this Expression of Interest form will be treated with the strictest confidence and will not be used for purposes other than identified in this document without permission of the applicant.
